Electrical SCADA Engineer will be responsible for successful completion of assigned electrical projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships.
The expert shall have previous experience in specify, design and configure communication networks and communication paths for Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), Human Machine Interface (HMIs), Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), Power Line Carrier (PLC) or radio communication paths and other SCADA system equipment for interconnected/integrated power grid system.

Systems to be analyzed will include conventional & renewable generation facilities, substations, transmission lines and distribution networks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for bid document preparation specification, cost estimate, develop and implement logic and control schemes for remote and local operation of power system equipment; develop programs on various platforms for implementation of these schemes; travel to project sites to troubleshoot, test and commission the control schemes and communication systems and report writing.
He will assist the team leader to carry out the project implementation.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Make necessary inputs and advise to the project team on all technical matters related to the following activities: preparation, review, execution and management of technical affairs for electrical engineering projects;
  • Perform specific duties and responsibilities related to electrical power system engineering including evaluating electrical systems, products, components and applications;
  • Develop a full understanding of project requirements through discussion with client;
  • Coordinate to review all reports, drawings and plans prepared by or for client until bid preparation;
  • Prepare project designs, documentation and technical bidding documents and technical specifications;
  • Review and evaluate technical designs drawings and calculations;
  • Assist ACI to witness FATs if required;
  • Contribute in preparation of the conceptual designs and layouts for the substations, transmission line, protection system coordination and substation automation, SCADA and etc.

  • Experience in utilizing OPGW, SDH, etc. for communications systems;
  • Contribute in preparation of the technical specification for power system including solar, wind, and hybrid power projects;
  • Prepare defects list (punch list) to be attended by the contractor during defect liability period;
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for electrical standards and practices related to power system;
  • Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical innovations;
  • To notify the Department Director of upcoming projects;
  • To respect company values and policies;
  • Performs any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by supervisor
    • Bachelor degree in electrical power engineering, master degree is highly preferred;
    • Previous experience with USG and USACE funded contracts is preferred; 
    • 5 years work experience in power sector projects with transmission, substations and installation of SCADA and communication system;
    • Detailed knowledge of power generation, renewable energy, distribution equipment, transmission line and high voltage substations;
    • Proficient in design and calculation software and Familiarity with PC applications such as Microsoft Office; 
    • Good knowledge in the latest generation of equipment/hardware used in establishing SCADA system and communication protocols: DNP, Modbus, SEL Communication Protocol, IEC 61850, TCP/IP, UDP
    • Familiarity with international standards, specifically IEC, IEEE, ANSI and other electrical codes and standards;
    • Project management experience
    • Able to work under pressure and be flexible in working hours;
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently;
    • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks;
